Highgate Mission in Akany Avoko
As a Parish, we are supporting the work of Wyn and Gil Barbezat in Madagascar:
Akany Avoko (pron: A-ka-nee A-voo-koo) "The home of the Avoko flower"
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the home started by two Swiss missionaries.
An earlier visit to Madagascar gave Wyn and Gil the opportunity to see first hand the work done at Akany Avoko. Impressed, they planned to offer some time as volunteers to help with the work being done to ensure that the children in Akany’s care have the best chance of productive and independent lives. These children come in great need and are offered love, hope,nurture, education and training.
